Cast Away
(metal) - installation at Landguard Fort of metal
found whilst walking on Suffolk beaches, approximately
4m diameter.
Large quantities of metal are washed up on our beaches.
Much of it is rusting with jagged edges, representing a major
hazard to people swimming in the sea or walking on the beach
- as well as to wildlife. Whilst drinks cans can be easily
identified, much of the rest is of uncertain origin and may
harbour other hazards. Whilst this exhibition was on at Landguard
Fort an unexploded bomb was washed up on the beach near-by
in Felixstowe.
